Who Should Get a Refugee Travel Document?

Refugee travel document is a travel document that is meant for refugees, asylees and green card holders who were once refugees or asylees. To travel abroad and return to the U.S., they will have to obtain this document from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). They need to get it prior to their travel abroad.

Derivative asylees and refugees who wish to travel abroad also need to get this document before they leave the country. Those who fail to obtain their travel documents before their departure, may not be able to re-enter the U.S.
