What are the reasons for being denied entry into the U.S.?
You may be denied entry into the U.S. if you are found to have a criminal history. Even minor crimes are likely to affect the possibility of your entry. The other reason why you may be denied entry into the U.S. could be due to your past U.S. immigration history. If you had overstayed your nonimmigrant visa in the past, you may not be allowed to get into the U.S.
A valid visa alone is not sufficient to enter into the U.S. The U.S. customs officers need to believe that you are a genuine visitor. For some reason, if they do not believe that you are a genuine visitor, they may not grant you entry into the country. This may happen if they suspect that you intend to illegally stay back in the U.S. after your visa expires and/or if you do not have sufficient ties in your home country.
