If you are a citizen of a foreign country whose aim is to settle in the United States, you need to prepare your application as soon as possible.
DV 2015 Registration Period
Only the applications that are filed between 12:00 noon on October 1, 2013 and 12:00 noon on November 2, 2013 will be considered. You cannot file a paper application to take part in Green Card lottery. Applications must only be submitted online within the registration period.
You and your spouse can both file separate applications. But you need to list the names of your spouse and children in your application, even if your spouse is filing a separate application, or if your spouse and children are not planning to immigrate with you to the United States. Your entry must include a photo that meets the specifications and remember that applications without photographs will not be considered. You need not pay any fee or submit supporting documents at the time of filing your entry.
Eligibility Requirements
To enter this program, you need to be a high school graduate and your education must be equivalent to a US high school diploma. If not, you need to have two years of work experience. Apart from that, you must be capable of financially supporting yourself. You must not become a burden to the country.
Will DV 2015 be the Last Green Card Lottery Program?
The immigration reform bill, that the Senate has passed, would abolish this lottery program. DV 2015 is likely to be the last Diversity Visa lottery program. People who do not have anyone to sponsor them can make use of this program and file their entries as soon as possible. If this program is abolished, foreign nationals will have to rely on their family members to get into the country. If not, they need to be skilled enough to get jobs in the United States to immigrate based on employer sponsorship.
