Business Leaders Who are in Favor of Immigration Reform

The debate over comprehensive immigration reform in the United States is heating up. A comprehensive immigration reform bill has been approved and passed by the U.S. Senate and the immigration activists and many others in the United States want the House Republicans to pass that bill. Religious and business groups and a majority of Americans are in favor of that bill and the following are the business leaders who back immigration reform.

Bill Gates

Bill Gates, founder and chairman of Microsoft Corp, has stated that the United States has to invest in education and make it easier for the high skilled immigrants to work for U.S. companies. According to him, United States can remain competitive if the country passes an immigration reform bill that would address the needs of the immigrants, U.S. companies and the Americans. He also joined Facebook’s Zuckerberg to co-found FWD.us, an immigration advocacy group.

He campaigns for immigration reform through his immigration advocacy group, FWD.us.

Reid Hoffman

Reid Hoffman, the CEO and co-founder of LinkedIn, is another co-founder of FWD.us. He voiced his support for immigration reform by hosting a hackathon for DREAMers in LinkedIn’s headquarters in California.

Thomas Donohue

According to Thomas Donohue, the President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the immigration system of our country is broken. He considers the issue of immigration “a deeply personal priority”. He is in favor of a reform bill that would secure the country’s border, mandate E-Verify and put the undocumented immigrants on a path to U.S. citizenship.

Marissa Mayer, President and CEO of Yahoo, Michael Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg LP, Greg Brown, CEO of Motorola Solutions, Inc., Arne Sorenson, President and CEO of Marriott International, Muhtar Kent, Chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Co., Doug Oberhelman, CEO of Caterpillar Inc., are the other business leaders who support immigration reform, according to VOXXI.
