Independence Day is celebrated every year on the 4th of July and it is generally known as “the Fourth of July”. On this day in 1776, the Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence and set the 13 colonies free. Those 13 colonies then became 13 states and these states were united under one federal government. The nation became stronger and it is now one of the most influential countries. Prior to the American War for Independence in 1776, America was in possession of England. The US Congress declared the Fourth of July as a federal holiday on 28th June, 1870.
Americans celebrate this day by organizing family events and by displaying American flags in their homes. This day will be marked by fireworks and parades. Likewise, USCIS has organized special naturalization ceremonies, commemorating Independence Day and several immigrants will take the Oath of Allegiance and obtain US citizenship.
